About Us

WEARSIDE CIVIL ENGINEERING is a family company based in County Durham. The company has been involved in general civil engineering and building works since 1980. The company was incorporated into a Limited Company in 2001. The Company employs 11 full time staff and has an annual turnover of around £1 Million.
At the time of incorporation the growing demand for swimming pool and related works created the need for a more representative trading name for WCE Ltd. The name A19 Pools and Spas then became a trading name of WCE Ltd. More recently the birth of our internet selling site has lead us to adopt a further trading name which is UK Pool Products. ‘A19 Pools & Spas’ and ‘UK Pool Products’ are Now Trading names of Wearside Civil Engineering Limited

Making a Purchase and Using the Site

Making a purchase is easy. Just browse our Catalogue, and click on any items that you want to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, go to checkout and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We process all online transactions via Protx Secure Servers, Because of the high level of security this offers we may have to contact you directly if there is a problem, or any extra charges. To assist this please ensure you leave us your best contact information for home and during working hours.
If you wish to send us payment by any other means, please contact us via email halttduk@aol.com and we will advise you directly on how to complete your purchase, or simply send us your order with either a postal order or cheque. Please make all cheques payable to: A19 Pools & Spas.

Prices and Changes

A19 Pools & Spas reserves the right at any time to revise its prices or the details given on this site without notice. All orders for products are subject to availability and A19 Pools & Spas reserves the right to refuse to supply to any individual or company for whatever reason.

Shipping

To ensure you receive your goods on time we have included as much information as possible on the delivery section of the ordering process. If you are not going to be in at the time of delivery there is an option to have your order delivered to an alternative address where someone will be available to collect it. This can be a work address or a family friend etc. If the courier attempts to deliver your parcel and no one is home, a card will be posted through your letterbox and an alternative delivery time will need to be arranged. To prevent this from happening you can state a leave safe message on your delivery instructions where on your premises your parcel can be left safely. Instructions placed in this box will appear on the delivery label for the courier. Please note any delivery instructions you wish to have on your order should be noted in the box above. If delivery is attempted 3 times by our carriers, and delivery has failed, the goods will be returned to us, and an additional charge will apply for re-delivery. If you decide you no longer require the goods after a failed delivery attempt, there will be a minimum £20 administration charge deducted from any refund to cover shipping & handling, and up to a 30% restock charge for the goods. Make sure you check your delivery BEFORE you sign for it as being received ok.

Deliveries of goods over 50 kilos such as Hot tubs, pools and enclosures can not be delivered unsigned and require that you ensure an able bodied person meet and assist with the delivery

If you are unable to check your delivery before signing for it, sign for your delivery as UNCHECKED or if the package is damaged in anyway, no matter how small, please sign for it stating DAMAGED. This is especially important with fragile goods, and heavier items such as Pool heaters, Calorex Units, Liners & Spa Pumps.
We CANNOT CLAIM from our carriers for any damaged items that have not been signed for as DAMAGED. If you sign for a delivery which you find at a later date is damaged, our carriers WILL NOT accept liability and you may be charged for the damaged items if we cannot claim from the carriers, In this case a delivery charge for replacement items WILL be made. By completing your order you agree to abide by these instructions to check your delivery and sign for it accordingly as either OK, UNCHECKED or DAMAGED. If you have signed for your goods as DAMAGED you must notify us by telephone within 7 days of the original delivery date. This communication must also be backed up in writing via recorded delivery within the same 7 days. Once we have been notified of the damaged goods, you will be given a specific reference number.

Generally all Stock items are shipped via our carriers and this is usually next working day service Monday to Friday, Saturday & Sunday are usually non-delivery days, Some items including filter sand already have extra carriage built in to the pricing structure, but will still incur a charge if below our minimum order values. Goods between £25.00 and £50.00 will be charged at £5.99 delivery and Goods between £0.00 and £25.00 will be charged at £11.99 Over £50 will be delivery free. Delivery schedules are detailed in item descriptions for each product.

Off-shore, European or Worldwide delivery services are offered by making a phone call or sending an E Mail please leave clear contact information when doing this and we will get back to you with a price.

We will always try to deliver your order right away, and we currently achieve a next working day (Monday-Friday) delivery rate of 99%, but please make sure your address details are correct and if you know you are not going to be at the delivery point, please leave us instructions to finalize the delivery, we normally dispatch goods up to 4pm each working day.
Please ensure you check your goods before signing for them in good condition as failure to do so will limit any claims for carrier damage.

If you live in a rural area or you generally have difficulty with home deliveries, you can always specify your place of work to receive your delivery. If you know that there is restricted access for deliveries, please inform us, so that we can pass these restrictions on to our Carrier. The more information we have ensures we maintain our delivery schedule, and your expectations.

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Back Orders

Some items such as spas for example are made to order and delivery times can vary throughout the season. If a delivery is held up you will be contacted via e-mail with the option of receiving a refund with a view to re-charging shortly before delivery. In these rare instances you may be asked for a small deposit.

VAT

All items despatched to the UK and EEC are inclusive of 17.5% VAT

Guarantee

To the extent permitted by law, we shall not have any liability for the content of any websites which link into this site. All products supplied conform to all relevant British and European standards. All products are supplied with a full UK supplier's guarantee, the details of which are available on request. If there is a defect in any of the products then we will replace the defective products free of charge or if you choose not to have a replacement you are entitled to a full refund of the price of the product (or a proportionate part of the price). Your statutory rights are unaffected. We will use all all our power to ensure that the Site remains available at all times. However, we cannot guarantee that the Site will operate continuously or will be error free. We therefore cannot accept any liability for any failure or non-availability of the Site. We do not accept, and hereby exclude to the fullest extent permissible under law, any liability for indirect or consequential loss or damage including, but not limited to, any loss of data, profit, revenue or business however caused. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall be construed as excluding or limiting liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Returns Policy

If any product that is purchased does not turn out to be the correct product requires for you then we will exchange it provided that the product has not been used in any way and is returned to us in its original packing (if applicable) "as new". If any product that is purchased is faulty we will exchange it for an identical replacement free of charge provided that the product is returned to us in its original packaging and the fault is notified to us. The replacement is at the discretion of the management/technician. Please note that fault during use may require goods to be returned to manufacturer for warranty confirmation.

On larger items such as spas that have a three year uk manufacturers warranty repairs that qualfy will be carried out on site.

You may cancel your order by giving us notice of cancellation within 7 days of the date of delivery, Above ground pools, Spas, D.I.Y Pool Kits, Mono-bloc Pools, Saunas, Steam Rooms, Enclosures, Coping Stones, Gas/Oil Boilers, Pool Liners or any other special orders, these will incur a 30% - 50% restocking charge. Such notice may be given by telephone, faxing, emailing or in writing to A19 Pools & Spas. We may in some circumstances accept goods returned to as unwanted outside of the 7 days, but no more than 28days from the date of purchase, but these goods will be subject to a 50% restocking charge, subject to the condition of the returned goods. On cancellation, you must return the unwanted goods to us at your cost and in original condition including the product packaging, all electrical goods must be returned in un-opened condition and un-used as we cannot warranty any electrical goods which may have been damaged due to use. If the goods are being returned under warranty and are faulty, 0r incorrectly supplied goods, we will pay the cost of return only by our carrier.


If you have notified us of a problem with the goods, we will (at your option) either make good any shortage or non-delivery; replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective upon delivery; or refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question. We will not be liable to you for any loss of profits, administrative inconvenience, disappointment, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem in relation to the goods and we shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than any refund we make under these conditions. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, nor is it intended to exclude our liability to you for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

If you instruct us to leave your goods without signature, the responsibility falls on you to ensure a safe delivery site. We will not be held responsible for lost items if your delivery instructions have been passed to our carrier.

Descriptions

All dimensions displayed for each product are meant as a guide only, above ground pools, Splasher, quick up pools and gazebos can vary slightly in size to that shown, as these sizes are meant as a general overall guide to the size. Water depth can vary depending on the level you fill the pool. All pumps & electrical heating devices should always be switched off when using Above Ground Pools to remove the risk of electric shock. All Pumps & electric heaters should be located at least 2 meters away from the waters edge, or be secured in a locked, waterproof enclosure. All hard wiring should be carried out by a qualified person and certificated to industry standards
